How To Use a Clarifying Shampoo?

For most of us, a branded shampoo for everyday use is enough. But today, we’ll talk about clarifying shampoo and how it benefits your hair and scalp in the long run.

Men and women who are always on the go oftentimes forgot the amount of product they put on their hair which causes product build-up and dandruff in the long run. This is where you need a clarifying shampoo for deeper cleaning.

Haircare experts recommend using a clarifying shampoo to add to our hair care routine as it helps get rid of hair buildup.

If you think your hair is currently experiencing dullness and excess buildup, we’ll discuss here why clarifying shampoo is a good option for your hair, what makes it different, and how often should you use it.

Use it occasionally

Clarifying shampoo is designed for occasional use only and shouldn’t replace your daily cleanser. However, it also depends on your hair type. This type of shampoo contains a higher content of cleansing agents compare to your regular shampoo and also doesn’t contain conditioning agents.

Determine your hair type

Before proceeding with a clarifying shampoo, make sure you determine which hair type you have. If you have a dry hair, oily hair, curly hair, or colored or treated hair, look for a shampoo that targets this specific issues. If you have a curly hair, we suggest you choose a sulphate-free shampoo to prevent frizz after washing. However, if you have a high porosity hair or you swim frequently, try using it once a week, and for those who have a kinky, hair, oily hair and dry scalp, use it only for twice a month.

Use only after a month of dyeing your hair

Freshly dyed hair are more prone to fading when you use a clarifying shampoo instead to your traditional one. We recommend you deep cleanse your scalp one month after you dyed your hair.

Last but not the least, clarifying shampoo helps clean your scalp. It stimulates your natural hair growth to help your hair feel healthier and stronger more likely to suffer from breakage and split ends with regular trims. You can also try getting yourself a microfiber towel – effective in absorbing moisture without making hair frizz up.
