What's So Important About Hair Care

Hair Care

They say the hair is the crowning glory of oneself. This is true, especially for women. Most women believe beautiful and healthy hair always leaves a good first impression. However, most of us do not know how important it is to take care of our crowning glory.

The earlier you start taking care of your hair, the better. Having an established hair care routine plays an important part in having healthy hair and helps avoid extensive damage that can lead to hair loss.

Here are some tips for you to ensure your hair's longevity and vitality:

1. Hair Trim

Regular Hair Trim - They say when you trim your hair regularly, the hair will grow faster and healthier. Do you know this is actually a myth? The truth is, your hair grows up to half an inch every month. Genetics, hormones, and diet are the true factors that affect the rate of hair growth. The real reason for having regular hair trims is to keep split ends away. Split ends make your hair look not just neglected but unhealthy - which is why it's best to have your hair trimmed every 6 to 8 weeks.

2. Shampoo

Appropriate Shampoo For Your Hair Type - One of the best ways of caring for your hair is using the correct shampoo for your hair type. It is recommended to address the needs of your hair specifically. However, if you are suffering from hair loss, use a shampoo that is mild and gentle not only to your hair but also to your scalp.

3. Gentle Hair Brushing

Gentle Hair Brushing - Our hair is more vulnerable and prone to breakage when wet, which is why we suggest that you brush your hair gently with an appropriate comb especially before going to bed.

 4. You Are What You Eat

You Are What You Eat - You have to have a healthy diet if you want to have healthy hair. Make sure you have lots of proteins and vitamins and minerals in your everyday diet. A vitamin-deficient diet may cause you to lack certain vitamins and minerals in your body which may result in hair damaged hair and hair loss. Moreover, avoid extreme weight loss and harsh diets since they can contribute to hair deterioration.

5. Go Natural

Natural Is Still The Best Way - As much as possible, avoid using hair drier, hair straightening or curling tools on a daily basis as this may result in damaged hair and hair loss. Frequent heat, frequent hair coloring contributes to that as well. We're not saying you shouldn't do it altogether, of course, we're all for feeling and looking pretty too, but don't over do it. The cliche is true - too much of everything is too much. Now, we don't want to be beautiful in 1 day and feeling weird the next because we overdid our hair, do we?

6. Scalp

Your Scalp Needs Attention Too - Use hair treatments once a week, if possible. No need for those fancy salon treatments that will definitely take your arm and your leg. You can use natural ingredients coming right out of your kitchen. This way, you have healthy and strong hair at such low, low prices.

And most importantly...

7. Be Happy

Be Happy - Stay away from stress! Stress is one of the main reasons for hair loss in women. I should know, I experienced this personally when I had to shift to evening work. I noticed a fair amount of hair on my hand, brush and when I take a bath. I guess, this is because I was lacking sleep. I started to adjust and noticed, it started to lessen. Our physical and mental being is of the utmost importance for our overall physical health. Stay away from negativity - Be happy!
